How we treat your data.
Last updated 27 September 2026
PracticeTable is a home-practice app for primary school: tables, spelling, the clock and topography. Children aged 7 to 10 use it under a grown-up's account. We collect only what the app needs to work. There are no ads and no third-party analytics or trackers, and we never sell personal data or use it for advertising.
What we collect
- The grown-up's account: name, email address, and password. The password is stored only as a one-way hash. We also record whether the email address has been confirmed.
- Sign-in sessions: a session keeps you signed in, together with the IP address and the device or browser description it was created from. We use these to keep the account secure.
- Child profiles: a display name you choose, and an optional avatar. A first name or nickname is enough. Children don't have accounts, and we never ask them for an email address.
- Practice history: for each answer, the question shown (a sum, a word, a time or a place), the answer given, whether it was right, how long it took, and when. The app uses this to choose what to practise next and to show progress.
Why we use it
- To run PracticeTable: your account, sign-in, keeping practice in sync across devices, choosing practice, and showing progress. This is needed to provide the service you signed up for.
- To keep accounts secure and the service reliable, for example by limiting repeated sign-in attempts. This is in our legitimate interest and yours.
- To send the emails the service needs: confirming your address and resetting your password.
Who processes it for us
- Railway hosts our servers and database.
- Resend delivers our service emails. It receives your email address and the content of the email.
Both are based in the United States, so data may be processed there. We rely on their data processing agreements, which include the EU standard contractual clauses. We don't share personal data with anyone else unless the law requires it.
This website doesn't use cookies. It remembers your light or dark theme choice in your browser's local storage, which is never sent to us.
How long we keep it
We keep your data until you delete the account. Deleting it removes the grown-up's account, every child profile, and all practice history from our database straight away. Deleting a single child profile removes that child's practice history. Sign-in sessions expire 30 days after they were last used. Password reset links expire after one hour.
Deleting your data
In the app, go to Settings and choose Delete account. You'll be asked for your password. You can also email us and we'll delete it for you.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, or to receive it in a format you can take elsewhere. You can also object to how we use it. Email support@practicetable.com. If you're unhappy with our answer, you can complain to your data protection authority. In the Netherlands, that's the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Children
PracticeTable is made for children to use under a grown-up's account. The grown-up creates the account and the child profiles and can delete them at any time. If you think a child has created an account on their own, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
When we change this policy we update the date at the top. For significant changes, we tell account holders by email before they take effect.
